Kall Kwik Bury St Edmunds is part of the UK’s leading business design and print network. It provides a full range of services including graphic and web design with a wide range of printing capabilities to companies in Suffolk.
The Brief
Kall Kwik Bury St Edmunds Managing Director Stewart Green saw the potential for big cost savings in upgrading to LED and wanted to improve the quality of light in the design studio, reception and offices.
The legacy lighting, fluorescent tubes and other fittings, was ten years old and had degraded so was providing a poor, dull quality of light.
The Kall Kwik design team also needed improved light that minimised glare as they work on monitors all day.
The Solution
SaveMoneyCutCarbon carried out a full survey of the premises and provided a detailed report with Return on Investment schedule to provide the sound business case for the LED project.
Consultative Sales team member Simon Blaaser also worked closely with Stewart to complete successful applications for Carbon Trust finance, covering 30% of the costs and a £1,000 West Suffolk Green Business grant.
The commissioned project was completed on time and within budget, with the installation managed during office hours and with no disruption to business.
A fully qualified member of the SaveMoneyCutCarbon installation team carried out the work, fitting Thorn LED panels, Luceco linear fittings, ECOLED tube, Red Arrow bulkheads and emergency options, as well as external floodlighting and bulkheads.
To address issues with glare, the design studio and office were fitted with LED panels that have a UGR rating of less than 19.
Kall Kwik will also benefit from the reliable LED lamps that should last for more than 50,000 hours so it can largely eradicate maintenance costs. By contrast, fluorescent tubes last for only 5,000 hours and the light degrades badly over time. Every light is backed by a no-quibble, five-year manufacturers’ warranty.
