The Brief

Daryl Griffiths, Chief Executive at Burnett Barker Solicitors, made first contact with SaveMoneyCutCarbon through the EV section on the company website and the EV specialists followed up.

Simon Blaaser, Head of E-Mobility at SaveMoneyCutCarbon and EV Sales Executive Archie Reed arranged an online video call with the CEO to discuss his requirements, and to gather base information for an indicative quote. The E-Mobility team followed up with a site visit to map out options and plan the installation.

Daryl is running his second plug-in hybrid vehicle while another colleague was switching to a full EV. With this in mind, he felt the time was right to install EV chargers at the head office in Bury St Edmunds.

The move to electric vehicles means that the company benefits from zero excise duty, as well as lower fuel costs and reduced carbon footprint. The benefit-in-kind tax on EVs is also much lower than fossil fuel cars, at just 2%, compared with a range of 22-37% for fossil-fuel models.

And while the EV charging infrastructure is expanding across the country, having a bespoke system at the place of work is still the most efficient and cost-effective way to charge.

The Solution

2 x Easee One Single Phase Chargers, supplied and installed with sundries and consumables.

The installation team upgraded a smaller distribution board to accommodate the EV chargers and routed the power from the basement up to street level. The full Installation was completed in one day.

The Easee One is beautifully compact and one of the most versatile EV chargers. Easee One was designed to comply with UK regulations and provides a charge that is up to 3 times faster than with a regular outlet. It charges on a single-phase power and supports charging up to 7.4kW. It also has a Type 2 universal charging connector.

The One also comes with an integrated eSim with a free lifetime subscription to enable over the air updates and smart connectivity. It is also updated with new features continuously. This way, you know that you have purchased a safe and future-proof product.

Integrated RFID is also included adding an extra layer of user security. The free app allows full control over the charger, whether at the office, at home or on the go. Users can check the status, start and pause charging, schedule a charge, lock the cable and much more.

How much could our services save you?

As a company, we’re moving into the electric vehicle space now and to support this we need to have EV charging solutions at our offices that are robust, efficient and easy to use. It’s important as well to reduce carbon emissions and make an ongoing contribution to the net zero goal.

The installation team were excellent and the project was managed very well with efficient and quick service from SaveMoneyCutCarbon. We are very happy with the results.

Daryl Griffiths, Chief Executive at Burnett Barker

It was a pleasure to work with Daryl and provide the EV charging services that Burnett Barker required. The adoption of EV for business and personal use is accelerating across the country as it makes sound financial sense. An EV is cheaper to run and total cost of lifetime ownership is also less than diesel or petrol models.

We provide EV charging point solutions along with expert advice and are not tied to one brand. We work with businesses to find the best solutions for their needs, rather than just selling an own-brand charger. We only partner with major manufacturers that meet our standards of quality and ongoing product support.
