More details

The 4-star Daventry Court Hotel in Northamptonshire has recently completed a comprehensive refurbishment programme with lighting being a key component of the changes.

The 155-guest-room property, part of The Hotel Collection, is ideally positioned to offer extensive conferences and meetings to businesses with purpose-built facilities and a choice of well-appointed function rooms that can be easily adapted to suit any occasion, from a large corporate event to a small private party.

The hotel worked with energy efficiency specialists, SaveMoneyCutCarbon (www.savemoneycutcarbon.com), to improve lighting quality substantially, making the meeting spaces more attractive to a wide range of users.

SaveMoneyCutCarbon is the energy efficiency specialist for the entire portfolio, working on a wide range of energy-saving and water-saving initiatives.

The SaveMoneyCutCarbon Field Services Team managed the complex retrofit at Daventry Court Hotel, ensuring minimal disruption for guests, management and staff.

The Field Services Team installed more than 100 daylight LED panels and more than 50 warm light LED downlighters in the the Danetree Suite and five other meeting rooms.

Multi-purpose venue

As the Danetree Suite is a multi-purpose venue, the retrofit incorporated LED panels, which are perfect for conferences, and ZEP 1 warm lights which are suitable for social gatherings like weddings and parties.

SaveMoneyCutCarbon’s experienced electrical installation team also demonstrated versatility and flexibility in the major wiring and refurbishment project in the hotel’s Cat Suite. This venue is now a very attractive conference and training suite for the hotel.

Energy consumption has been cut by up to 65.8 per cent across the full installation at the hotel with more than 50 per cent reduction in carbon footprint. Equally important, maintenance costs have been greatly reduced as the new LED lighting lasts 50,000 hours compared to 5,000 hours of the old style bulbs.

SaveMoneyCutCarbon’s unique financial modelling tools show that energy cost reductions add up to around £9,000 a year.
