Park Inn Heathrow stands to save over £21,000 per year in energy costs

The Client

The Park Inn Heathrow management were keen to investigate the energy saving potential of Variable Speed Drive technology.

The Brief

Variable Speed Drives (VSDs) alter the power of motors pumping air around a large building in air conditioning systems. Traditionally ‘dampeners’ are used to reduce the flow of air, but these do not reduce the power used.

Reduction of

112 tonnes

of CO2 emissions per annum

VSDs alter the motor power to reduce air flow at the same time as making energy savings. Park Inn Heathrow commissioned a test to verify SaveMoneyCutCarbon, and our supplier partner ABB’s, financial models.

Subject to a successful trial, the hotel would commission SaveMoneyCutCarbon to specify and install variable speed drives.

The Solution

Our dedicated field services team liaised with our partner supplier ABB and the hotel management to manage an informative trial. Our trial process clearly demonstrated the energy-saving capability of ABB variable speed drives.

SaveMoneyCutCarbon then created a detailed financial proposal for a full roll-out of the technology of the hotel. From there our nationwide installation team managed the project and delivered a prompt installation.

The VSD installation at Park Inn Heathrow stands to save the hotel over £21,000 in energy costs and 112 tonnes of carbon dioxide every year.
