The dual mode Vyv Antimicrobial Surface / Suspended Mounted Vapourtight Commercial/Industrial Linear Luminaire provides continuous and safe protection to reduce bacteria and micro-organisms.

The Vyv (by EIKOScare) Surface / Suspended Mounted Vapourtight Commercial / Industrial linear luminaire features dual Vyv Antimicrobial Light Technology (White Antimicrobial Light Mode / Enhanced Antimicrobial Light Mode) that kills* viruses and can be safely used 24/7 around people, pets and plants.

It can be used in a wide range of environments including general industry, food Industry, warehouses, and drying rooms, both as a lighting source giving continuous antimicrobial protection and in enhanced mode, which is a unique blend of precisely tuned colours to deliver optimal antimicrobial dosage.

The fixture uses the antimicrobial effect of visible light at 405 nm (violet) and does not use the ultraviolet spectrum (UV-C). Ultraviolet light is a well-known and effective disinfection tool, but it is not safe for human exposure as it degrades DNA in humans, animals and plants, which means its use is limited.

In contrast, Vyv non-hazardous technology is very different and meets IEC standards for unrestricted and continuous use around people, pets and plants.

Current cleaning and disinfection procedures do not provide adequate protection against bacteria, fungi, yeast or mould. When anything new enters that environment, the cycle of contamination begins again.

This is the case in virtually every environment from our homes, workplaces, schools and any interior public space. Vyv’s technology works non-stop around the clock and in between routine cleaning activities, continuously reducing micro-organisms exposed to the light.

The pioneering technology harnesses the power of 400-420nm (non-UV) visible light which effectively and continuously prevents the growth and spread of micro-organisms on indoor surfaces while also illuminating the space.

The germicidal effects of this narrow-band visible light suppress a wide range of bacteria, moulds, fungi and yeast by inducing the production of damaging reactive oxygen species, found exclusively in harmful micro-organisms, to accelerate cell inactivation.

*Testing on a non-enveloped virus (MS2 bacteriophage) showed a 99.985% reduction in controlled laboratory testing in 6 hours on hard surfaces. MRSA and E. coli showed 90%+ reduction in controlled laboratory testing in 24 hours on hard surfaces. Results may vary depending on the amount of light that is reaching the surfaces in the space where the product is installed and the length of time of exposure. Use of Vyv antimicrobial light is not intended to replace manual cleaning.
