Two new infographics from leading lighting magazine Lux dramatically show how hotels can save millions of pounds with LED light.
The magazine’s lighting economist Dave Tilley ran the numbers, using a general metric of replacing eight traditional lamps (incandescent and halogen) in the UK’s 615,000 guest rooms with LED lighting.
He added to that a full retrofit of all common area in 31,000 hotels.
As you can see, the results are very impressive indeed – £131 million annual energy savings and a reduction in carbon emissions of 677,000 tonnes per year.
