Mark Sait, CEO of SaveMoneyCutCarbon, spoke on BBC Radio 4 on Wednesday 16th June about the issues facing people as they try to make greener choices when it comes to their energy bills.
It’s clear that many people don’t know what green energy is. People are quite rightly price conscious, but this is a growing area of influence in their purchasing choices – and they don’t know how know how to make an informed decision in this area.
He explained how when it comes to choosing a green energy supplier there’s no one question to be answered, and no one measure to be considered. According to Sait, the only real way to truly know that your energy is 100% green is is to have your own solar panels, your own wind turbine in the garden, or go off grid. He also cut through the confusion on offsetting and explained how they don’t really ease the emissions that are going into the atmosphere, which is what we all need to be mindful of, and conscious of.
