Leading hotel sector magazine and online hub Hospitalitynet has published an in-depth article on lighting and energy by SaveMoneyCutCarbon CEO Mark Sait.
The article is the first of a regular series of columns by Mark in the influential magazine, focusing on energy saving and water management in the challenging environment of hotels.
Energy savings through LED lighting is the focus and Mark offers clear and experience advice on the best ways for hotels to negotiate the complex terrain of lighting retrofit to maximise return on investment.
As Mark advises in his first column: “Hotels present one of the biggest business challenges when the focus is on saving energy and the complexities of implementing a successful, sustainable efficiency strategy are immense.
“It’s a business that never sleeps and there is a constantly changing footfall of guests with often high levels of staff turnover, which means that it is difficult often to maintain a high level of staff knowledge and practice around energy efficiency.
“Meanwhile, the case for energy efficiency and the solutions chosen becomes stronger month by month and the effective solutions have improved technically over the past two years.”
